It's time for a September Reset

To me, September is a mini January! A time to refocus and get back to routine. Here are some ways you can get back on track with your wellness and yoga this Autumn.

Set an intention for Autumn:
Decide a word or phrase that resonates with you for this season.
For me, the summer was all about slowing down, switching off and having fun with friends and family. September will be very busy, and in the Autumn I will really need to manage my time to avoid getting stressed or burnt out. Over the next few weeks I will really need to focus back in on my goals and where I want to go, to prioritise my time. So my intention might be something like "focus."
2. Deep clean your space:
This is such a quick way to feel like you're having a fresh start. Spend an hour (or a few) deep cleaning and sorting to be surrounded by a feeling of clean calm. Most of us are so much more productive and focused when we're in a clean and tidy space. "Saucha" or purity/cleanliness is also one of the principles of yogic life - the niyamas. So cleaning and tidying can be done with devotion and love, just like your yoga practice on the mat.
3. Create a new morning routine:
Whether you're a morning person or not, having a moment to yourself before the day begins can make you feel so much more positive about life in general! I treasure my morning meditation and yoga practice, as well as eating breakfast peacefully and slowly. Think about how the best version of you would start their day. Maybe that's journalling and slowly sipping your coffee, getting outside for a walk or spending a few minutes of quality time with your partner. I also have so many free yoga routines to try on my youtube channel, if you have time for some morning yoga
why not try this one:
Try your new morning routine for at least a week to feel the difference!
4. Set some new goals (or refocus on old ones):

Maybe you made some goals at the start of 2024 that you have already acheived, and you're ready to set new ones. Or maybe, you've fallen off course with a couple of your new year's resolutions. There are still 4 months left of this year to make your dreams happen! And, regardless of the time of year, goal-setting is always such motivating way to get focused on what you truly want. 5. Enjoy the present:
It can feel a little sad at the end of the summer that we are heading back into colder weather and shorter days. However, there's beauty to be found in the transitional time between seasons. I also find that the more time I spend outside, the less the weather bothers me. Spending time in nature allows me to appreciate every time of year for what it is. Try it and see how you feel!
